Portals VIII

“Portals VIII
40″ x 54″
$3000

“Portals VIII” shows a hopeful view of that last passage we all must make. Like Mark Rothko making art for his Chapel in Houston, TX very large, so that the viewer would feel like he or she was entering that eternal space, I too invite the viewer to enter this piece through it’s size, and absence of anything to visually block one’s entrance into the ethereal essence of this creation.

“Portals VIII” uses two layers of hand painted silk organza, entirely hand stitched, with burnt edges. It is suspended from a clear acrylic slat. The light weight fabric moves with air currents as light plays with the changing shadows on and around the art.
